I’m incredibly proud to have joined 70 local businesses to help raise over £200,000 for Pendleside Hospice by taking part in their 2022 Corporate Challenge.

I usually support several charities throughout the year by holding monthly challenges for my clients to join.

But after being informed about Pendleside Hospice’s Corporate Challenge, I felt this would be a great opportunity and I could help raise a good amount of money for an amazing cause.

It would also allow me to meet some amazing people and open the doors up to new opportunities.

I knew what challenge I wanted to do to raise the money, but I needed support with the logistics.

So, I enlisted the help of Claire Hodson and Fiona Ritchie from We Love Creative to help with the marketing and Steve Neary as my right-hand man putting it altogether.

I wanted to get the whole village involved in a challenge based on the Mel Robbins 54321 principle – a simple yet profound tool that changes your attitude, your mindset, and your behaviours and obviously it had to be focussed on health and wellness!

Weekly meetings with the Simonstone Tennis club, Read Cricket Club and 7B Performing Arts ensued, and I had extra help from Pete’s Physio who set me up with contracts in Burnley Football Club and the very talented Vocalist Jess McGlinchey.

The whole community really did come to the fore and we worked as the perfect team while carrying out our own individual tasks, including setting up stalls, tombolas, bouncy castles, tuck vans, raffle and auction.

The tombola in particular was a huge success, as was Read and Simonstone Football Club’s popular and innovative boot stall.

The day started off with Bootcamp run by me, followed by Cardio tennis at Read and Simonstone Community Tennis Club.

If we hadn’t already worked our legs enough, up next was a 5K walk attended by parents, children and dogs, which led us back for a dance display from 7B Performing Arts at the Cricket Club and then to finish off, a family favourite, rounders!

The afternoon’s fun was topped off with the football card to win a gallon of whiskey that was kindly donated by a local villager, the raffle and entertainment from Jess McGlinchey.

We proudly raised £2000 from the event, so to everyone who helped make it happen THANK YOU so much!
